Repeat Order

If you need the same tool again, send us the job reference, a clear photo, or a sample label and we will match the spec as closely as possible. Our Wadeville team handles repeat orders for label printers and converters across South Africa, from Germiston to Cape Town and Durban.

Repeat Order

How to start a repeat order

Repeat orders move faster when we have the old job details from the start. Send the previous job reference, the label size, and any notes on the press or material used. If the original artwork changed since the last run, mention that too so we can check the die geometry before production.

We work with rotary solid dies, flexible magnetic dies and magnetic cylinders. If you are not sure which tool you used last time, our team can identify it from a photo, a sample roll, or the marks on the backing material. That saves time and avoids ordering the wrong format.

  • Past job reference or invoice number
  • Finished label size and repeat length
  • Photo of the tool, label or carton if available
  • Any press issues from the last run

What to send us for a clean match

The more detail you send, the less chance of a mismatch. A flat photo taken next to a ruler helps a lot, especially when the label has curves, windows or close registration marks. If you have a sample label, we can compare the cut line, corner radii and stripping detail against the earlier tool.

For converters in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Germiston, the usual time saver is to include the material type and thickness. Coastal jobs in Durban, Pinetown, Cape Town or Bellville may also need a note on humidity sensitive materials because storage conditions can affect how the stock behaves on press. That small detail can change the bearer setting or the cutting pressure.

  • Photo of the label, die, cylinder or carton
  • Sample label or stripped waste matrix if possible
  • Substrate type and thickness
  • Any recent press changes, including speed or tension

Our check process before we remake anything

Once we receive your details, we check the previous record, compare the artwork or sample, and confirm the dimensions before anything goes to the machine shop. If the repeat is for a flexible magnetic die, we also check magnet condition and the bearer setting. For rotary solid dies, we confirm wear, edge condition and whether a regrind will still hold the spec.

Nirasha in CAD can redraw the profile where needed, while Thandiwe and Siyanda check the manufacturing route against the original job. If there is any doubt, we will ask for one more photo or a sample strip rather than guess. That saves you from a bad press trial and wasted board or label stock.

When a repeat order needs an update

Not every repeat is an exact copy. Sometimes the label size stays the same but the material changes, or the artwork moves a few millimetres. In those cases we can update the tool and keep the cutting line consistent with the new spec. If the old die has seen heavy use, a regrind or cylinder refurb may be the better choice than a straight remake.

We also help when the previous tool was damaged in transit, mishandled in stripping, or stored badly. Rust, knocks and misalignment can all affect performance, especially in coastal depots where moisture hangs around. If the old tool is still usable, we will say so rather than push a full remake you may not need.

Urgent repeat orders and press support

When a line is waiting, speed matters. We handle urgent remakes and repeat orders for printers who need the next run out quickly, including support with press trials and bearing checks. If the job is for a high volume label run, tell us the deadline and the delivery town so Anele can coordinate packing and dispatch properly.

We can also advise on stock levels for common repeats, so you are not caught short after a large customer reorders at short notice. A small buffer can help during load-shedding weeks, machine downtime or unexpected municipal delays on delivery routes.

  • Urgent remake planning
  • Press trial support
  • Magnet checks and bearer setting
  • Delivery coordination across South Africa

Where we deliver repeat orders

Our base is in Wadeville, Germiston and we supply repeat orders to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Pinetown, Cape Town, Bellville and Gqeberha. If you need collection arranged or delivery to a production site, let us know where the press team will receive it and we will plan the handover around your shift times.

For multi-site groups, we can keep the repeat record aligned so the same label spec is used across different plants. That helps when head office orders from one site but the production team needs the tool at another, and it reduces confusion on busy weeks.

Questions we get asked

What details do you need to repeat an existing die or cylinder?

Send the previous job reference, a clear photo, the finished label size, and any sample label or stripped waste if you have it. If there were issues on the last run, mention those as well.

Can you remake a tool from a photo only?

A photo can be enough to start, but a sample label or old tool gives a better match. If anything is unclear, we will ask for extra detail before we manufacture.

Do you help with repeat orders that need minor changes?

Yes. If the size, material or artwork has changed, we can update the tool and check the cutting spec before production. We will also advise if regrind or refurb is the better option.

Send through your die brief.
